Showdown features whiteout, big screen

The NHL announced that the Pittsburgh Penguins and Tampa Bay Lightning will play Game 7 of their opening round Stanley Cup playoff series on Wednesday, April 27, at 8 p.m. at CONSOL Energy Center.

The game will be broadcast locally on ROOT SPORTS.

The Penguins are also calling for a whiteout for their Game 7 showdown with the Tampa Bay Lightning Wednesday night at 8 p.m. at CONSOL Energy Center.

Fans are encouraged to wear white jerseys, sweaters or t-shirts to create whiteout conditions for the winner-take-all final game of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals. The winning team advances to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

The Big Screen also will be available in the Civic Arena south parking lot for fans who don’t have tickets to the game.

“The energy and passion of our fans for a Game 7 on home ice will be a big boost for us,” Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said. “Like Howard Cosell once said, ‘When you play Pittsburgh, you play the whole city.’ We know it’s going to be a great atmosphere at CONSOL Energy Center for Game 7.”
