The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Dustin Jeffrey from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of American Hockey League, it was announced by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
Jeffrey, 22, is tied for the AHL lead in scoring with 30 points through 25 games. He is also tied for the league lead in shorthanded goals with four, while ranking in the top 10 in goals (13, t-6th), assists (17, t-7th) and shots on goal (92, 8th).
Jeffrey, Pittsburgh’s sixth-round pick (171st overall) in the 2007 Entry Draft, has played 15 NHL games with Pittsburgh in his career, recording three points (1G-2A) and a plus-4 rating.
Jeffrey (6-foot-1, 205 pounds) is in his fourth season with WBS, posting 48 goals, 90 assists, 138 points and a plus-18 rating in 165 games in his career. He led WBS in assists (47) and points (71) in 2009-10 and was named to the AHL Canadian All-Star Team.
