The Steelers have activated tight end Heath Miller from the PUP (Physically Unable To Perform) List and made 22 other roster moves, reducing their roster to the league-mandated 53 players, it was announced today.
Miller missed all of the 2013 preseason recovering from a knee injury suffered last season. He passed his physical and can begin to practice with the team.
The Steelers released running back Jonanthan Dwyer and punter Brian Moorman. The team also released running back Alvester Alexander, defensive linemen Alameda Ta’amu and Brian Arnfelt, linebackers Alan Baxter, Terence Garvin, Marshall McFadden and Brian Rolle, wide receivers Justin Brown, Reggie Dunn and Kashif Moore, offensive linemen Mike Golic, Chris Hubbard, Joe Long and Joe Madsen, tight ends Jamie McCoy and Nathan Overbay, and defensive backs Terry Hawthorne, Devin Smith, Ross Ventrone and Josh Victorian.
Beginning on Sunday, September 1, at noon, the Steelers are permitted to add eight players to their practice squad.
