Where the Locals Landed

Training camps are open across the NFL and dozens of rookies are trying to buck the odds and earn a roster spot, including nearly two dozen with ties to western or central Pennsylvania.

Penn State and West Virginia each landed six players on NFL training camp rosters, while Pitt placed four and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference three. Five WPIAL players—Fox Chapel’s Miles Dieffenbach, Altoona’s Julian Howsare, Canon-Mac’s Mike Hull, South Allegheny’s Jesse James and Beaver Falls’ Todd Thomas—will get a chance to earn a place in the league this season.
